The more you learn, the more you see the opportunities
Getting into university in the first place was the most difficult part, once I got in it was a really fulfilling experience.
Now I feel that my studies have given me the confidence and knowledge to seek out opportunities and also to make the most of those that come my way.
I have two main goals; firstly that my artwork will enable people to question their beliefs and perceptions regarding Australian identity and culture. And the second is to somehow use my skills and knowledge in the visual arts field to address social issues and make a positive contribution to the community in that way.
Having completed a contemporary arts degree at Edith Cowan University (ECU), I now work at that university and part of my role is to encourage people to study at university. I also have a studio and I am always working towards exhibiting.
I really believe that the more you learn, the more you become aware of the fact that there are so many opportunities out there, you just need to pick the path where you know you’ll always be learning about something.
