I wanted to help kids achieve their goals
I chose to undertake a teaching degree at Edith Cowan University (ECU), because I wanted to become a role model for Indigenous children and help them achieve their goals.
After completing my degree, I plan to make a difference by teaching in remote communities. My experience at ECU was extremely positive. The lecturers were always very helpful and I received a lot of support with my studies.
I was also lucky enough to win The Governor-General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarship, which helped me with living costs and provided me with a mentor teacher. I really enjoyed the practicum subject because it provided me with the opportunity to apply what I’ve learnt at ECU.
