University of Sydney Business School offering new Cadigal Scholarships for 2018
The University of Sydney Business School has announced that each year, the Business School will admit a number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to its Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced Studies programs through the Inspired by Business, Cadigal Scholarships.
Students are considered for a Inspired by Business, Cadigal Scholarship when making an application via the Cadigal Alternative Entry program and the Bachelor of Commerce or the Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced studies as their preference. Each student admitted under this program will receive financial support valued at $10,000 per year for the three years of the Bachelor of Commerce degree, or four years of the Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced Studies degree.
Announced during Reconciliation Week, the Inspired by Business, Cadigal Scholarships will be offered for the first time in 2018, and were designed “to support Indigenous Australians to nurture business skills enabling them to lead their communities and in business more broadly”, The Business School’s Associate Dean (Undergraduate Business), Associate Professor Rae Cooper said.
As well as financial support, students will also have access to peer, career and academic mentoring during their time at the Business School.
The Business School’s Inspired by Business, Cadigal Scholarships applications close 1 December 2017.
