Applications extended for APPEA 2015 Oil & Gas Industry Engineering Scholarship for Indigenous students

The Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) have extended the application period for the 2015 Oil & Gas Industry Engineering Scholarship for Indigenous students to 4 September. APPEA encourages applications from Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander students who are planning on starting or are already undertaking an engineering degree in Australia. The scholarship also includes the opportunity to undertake paid work experience with an APPEA member oil and gas company during university vacation breaks, providing valuable industry experience.
Value and duration
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per year up to a maximum of five years full-time or part-time equivalent. Additional funding of up to $5,000 per annum is available for the Indigenous Australian Scholarship recipient for agreed mentoring services in association with APPEA’s member companies.
Who is eligible?
The scholarship is for engineering students who are planning on starting or are already undertaking an undergraduate engineering degree in Australia that is relevant to the oil and gas industry, in particular:
- Mechanical engineering
- Instrument & Control engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Petroleum engineering
- Process/Chemical engineering

Applications are currently open and close on Friday 4 September 2015
